This Week Topic for Lunch

 

 

NARCAN: Recognizing and Responding to a Drug Overdose

This week’s program will feature a presentation by Katie Boyle, and Dan Durkee, Public Health Educators, Warren County Health Services. The topic this week will be on the use of NARCAN to assist and prevent the sudden death of someone who is experiencing a drug overdose. We have all heard of this intervention method but this week we will have an opportunity to take a deep dive into the what, when, and how NARCAN can be used to save lives. This will essentially be a training session for all club members so we hope you can find time to join us for this important and interesting presentation!

The lunch format will be a little different this week, as the program will include 45 minutes of educational content.

We will be meeting in Adirondack Hall, Room 135, on the north end of the campus. The room is directly on the right as you enter the building from the parking lot.

Rotary Moment

 

The Rotary Moment is an opportunity for members to share a meaningful Rotary experience, memory, or story with the club.

At each meeting, a member will be selected by the person who is presenting to receive a special Rotary Moment bag, filled with goodies and a few items to help carry on the tradition. The selected member will have three minutes to share their personal Rotary Moment with the club.

If the selected member is unable to attend the designated meeting, it will be their responsibility to find another member to present their Rotary Moment on their behalf.

Inside the bag will also be paper where the recipient can write a thought, memory, or message, or leave a small token representing their Rotary experience.

At the end of the Rotary year, the bag will be presented to Jackie, our historian, who will preserve it as part of our club's history for future generations of Rotarians.
