Learning to read and discover new words and meanings can be an exciting new adventure, especially for 3rd graders. The kids in Glens Falls were presented with new dictionaries last week by club members marking the 10th year we have been helping kids learn and grow in our community. Pictured above is Past President Rotarian Jean Lapper presenting new Dictionaries to the kids at Jackson Heights school.
Students who attend Big Cross, Jackson Heights, Kensington, Abe Wing and St. Mary's/St. Alphonsus Schools were entertained and educated by members of our club who handed out copies of the Webster Dictionary to each student and learned about what amazing information is contained in each book and how to use it and learn from it. We were very proud to have the Post Star cover one of the presentations at St. Mary's/St. Alphonsus. See related article

We received a warm welcome from the kids and it's always a joy for the members to participate and see the kids excitement and enthusiasm in discovering new things throughout the books. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Take a look at our week's outtakes of the kids having fun with Rotarians in the joy of discovery! Click here.
