Robert and Francine NemerEvery year, the members of the Glens Falls Rotary Club nominate and elect a member of the public to be honored, who exemplifies the Rotary values of Service ABOVE SELF. Robert Nemer, along with his wife Francine, has dedicated his life to strengthening our community, with a particular passion for investing in young people. A former teacher, he has carried that commitment forward through decades of service, always focused on helping the next generation succeed. Mr. Nemer is a founding member of the Adirondack Civic Center Coalition, Inc. that was responsible for the acquisition of the Glens Falls Civic Center/Cool Insuring Arena from the City of Glens Falls.
He has served for six years on the SUNY Adirondack Foundation board and is an active board member of the United Way, where he has been instrumental in initiatives like the Packs for Kids program, providing hundreds of backpacks to local students each year.

The Nemers have been a driving force behind innovative partnerships that create real opportunity. Robert helped establish a teen scholarship program with The Post-Star in collaboration with SUNY Adirondack, and more recently spearheaded a nursing education initiative through the Hudson Headwaters Health Network Foundation. This program funds nursing students’ education in exchange for a commitment to serve locally—already making an impact, and inspiring similar efforts at Glens Falls Hospital.  Through the Nemer Motor Group, he has made considerable contributions to Glens Falls Hospital, Saratoga Hospital, and St. Peter’s Hospital. Robert and Francine have also personally donated time and funding to these health centers. The two have also contributed to the youth education efforts of The Hyde Collection, as art is a particular passion for Mrs. Nemer.
Their commitment to youth and community extends even further. Through his work with the Partnership for Community Belonging, he helped organize a regional youth summit bringing together over 125 students to share ideas and shape the future of our area. He has also supported organizations such as the Lake George Association and Kelly’s Angels, which awarded over $50,000 in scholarships last year to students who have overcome adversity and demonstrated a commitment to helping others.

Whether creating pathways to education, supporting families, or building connections across our region, Robert and Francine Nemer consistently leads with generosity, vision, and heart. His impact will be felt for generations to come.

Congratulations!
