This fall we welcomed Dr. Anshu Chandra to give a presentation on eye care for rural Haiti through the Global Eye Project.
Dr. Chandra has been volunteering in Haiti since 2010 to bring essential eye care to rural, underserved communities. The Rotary Club of Glens Falls was able to approve a grant to donate $1000 towards their work in building much needed facilities and providing care. International projects are a way for us as a community to have an impact beyond our own borders. Working together across the world is one of the ways we can help build a better tomorrow for all.

Through this project they have had an impact with:
  • 120,000+ free eye exams provided to date
  • 13,000–15,000 patients served annually
  • Restored sight, prevented blindness, and given hope to thousands
  • Serve 100+ patients daily, some traveling days to reach the clinic
  • Operate on less than $50,000/year – all staff in the U.S. are unpaid volunteers
This sustainable project trains local Haitian staff to deliver sustainable, high-quality eye care that meets international standards.
