Warm the Children is a cooperative effort of The Post-Star, the Salvation Army and The Rotary Club of Glens Falls providing new winter clothing for the children of less fortunate families. The Post-Star asks readers for monetary donations. The money is used exclusively to purchase new clothing for children in Warren, Washington and northern Saratoga counties. 100% of all donations are used to purchase new clothing. There are no administrative fees. The Salvation Army provides names and contact information of families meeting the necessary criteria of low income children. The Post-Star and Rotary Club recruit volunteer shoppers to accompany the families in their shopping trip. Children are allotted $80-$140, depending on age. The Glens Falls Rotary Club Foundation provides the 501c3 umbrella. The Post-Star absorbs all operating expenses.
Since the inception of the local Warm the Children in 1992 we have raised $946,000 and 8,700 children. Each year the need grows along with the community support.
Please consider Warm the Children when you are looking for a local charity to support.
