Tim Bartlett attends RLI – Here is what he says: AMAZING!!!
First, it filled in some blanks about what Rotary is all about. I came out of it knowing a lot more about so many topics, from how the Rotary Foundation functions to member engagement to our areas of focus. There was not a wasted moment.
Second, it gave me a great opportunity to get to know some of my fellow Rotarians throughout the District (including some Rotaractors--I didn't even know that Rotaract was a thing). The fact that the lessons were student-led discussions rather than simple lectures contributed a lot to this. As a bonus, I rode down with Charles, so I had an opportunity to get to know a member of my own club much better, as well.
Third, it served as a major source of inspiration. There was a piece on service project planning and it really got my creative juices flowing, so I have a couple ideas for projects (albeit, incredibly ambitious ones) that I'm currently letting marinate and hope to start bouncing around soon.
I would seriously encourage every new Rotarian to attend at some point. I'm so grateful that Charles reached out directly to encourage me to go. I wasn’t all that enthusiastic about waking up at 5:30 on a Saturday morning, but I'm super happy that I did.
